The workshop behind Manchester's windows
For over 25 years we have manufactured and installed UPVC and aluminium windows, doors and glazing for homes and businesses across the North West, and today our 24/7 emergency team keeps them safe around the clock.

A family-run fabricator, built around one workshop
Prime Fabrication Windows, Doors & Glazing began as a small workshop in Trafford Park with a simple belief: windows and doors should be made properly, by people who care, and installed by the same hands that built them. Two decades on, that belief still runs through everything we do.
Our main trade is what it has always been: manufacturing made-to-measure UPVC and aluminium windows, doors, bifolds and shopfronts in our own facility, and fitting them with our own team for homeowners across Altrincham, Hale and Wilmslow, and for builders, developers and contractors throughout the North West.
Because we cut glass and build frames every day, we also run a 24/7 emergency service alongside the workshop: emergency glazing, locksmith call-outs, boarding up and urgent window and door repairs across Greater Manchester. When something breaks at 3am, the same workshop that makes our windows is behind the van that turns up.
We have grown, but we have never subcontracted our installations or compromised on detail. That is why so much of our work comes from referral and repeat business.
What being a fabricator actually changes
Most firms selling windows in Manchester are placing an order with a factory somewhere else. We are the factory. That is not a slogan, it changes four practical things about working with us.
Nothing is a standard size
Every frame is welded and glazed to the measurements taken at your survey. That matters most on the housing we work in every day: Victorian bays that are not square, 1930s reveals that vary by 15mm across a single elevation, and period openings in Knutsford and Wilmslow where no two are alike. A supplier working from a size list has to pack the gap. We cut to the gap.
There is no distributor in the price
A window bought through a showroom carries the manufacturer's margin, the distributor's margin and the sales commission before anyone has measured anything. Buying from the workshop removes two of those three. It is also why we can quote a single replacement sash or a whole house without the price per opening changing much.
We can make a part that is no longer sold
This is the one customers are most surprised by. When a 1980s aluminium window needs a section, or a period frame needs a bar profile that has been out of production for thirty years, most firms quote a full replacement because sourcing the part is impossible. We machine aluminium and weld uPVC on site, so a repair stays a repair. It is the reason we fix far more windows than we replace.
The people who made it are the people who fit it
Our installers are employed, not subcontracted. If something needs adjusting a year later, the person who comes out can go and look at how it was built, because it was built forty minutes away. There is nobody to blame between the factory and the fitter, because there is no gap between them.
Two sides of the same workshop
The emergency side and the installation side share a building, a glass bench and a stockroom. That is why a smashed window at 2am can be boarded the same night and reglazed from stock the next morning, and why a customer who first met us through a broken pane often comes back years later for the whole house. The 24/7 line and the free survey are answered by the same firm.
Accreditation and cover
We are a FENSA registered installer and CHAS accredited for health and safety, and our public liability cover is held with Simply Insurance. Residential installations carry a 10-year guarantee on both the product and the workmanship. If you need our certificates or insurance details for a survey, a managing agent or a commercial procurement process, ask and we will send them.
