What window fabrication actually means
Most firms quoting you for windows in Manchester are installers. They measure, order frames in from a fabricator, and fit what turns up. There is nothing wrong with that - but you are paying two margins.
A window fabricator makes the window. The profile is cut to the millimetre on the saw, the corners are welded or mechanically jointed, the drainage and hardware slots are routed, the gaskets and locking gear go in, and the sealed unit is glazed into the finished frame. That is the part that decides whether a window lasts twenty years or starts dropping in five.
We do that here, in Trafford Park. When something is wrong, it goes back to the bench it came from rather than into a supply chain. That is the whole argument for buying from window fabricators rather than from a reseller.

Glass units cut to size for misted or blown double glazing, including acoustic and toughened.
How a window is made here
Five steps between your measurements and a fitted frame.
1. Survey
We measure the opening ourselves. Fabrication is only as accurate as the survey it starts from.
2. Cut
Profile cut to size on the saw, to the millimetre, for that specific opening.
3. Fabricate
Corners welded or jointed, drainage and hardware slots routed, gaskets and locking gear fitted.
4. Glaze
The sealed unit is glazed into the finished frame and the beads go on.
5. Fit
Our own installers fit it, make good, and leave the FENSA paperwork with you.
Aftercare
A ten year guarantee, and a workshop twenty minutes away if anything needs looking at.
Why buy from the fabricator
Three practical differences, not marketing ones.
Price. A reseller buys the frame, adds margin, then quotes you. We are the first link in that chain, so there is one margin instead of two.
Specification. Because we are making it rather than ordering it, the glass, the colour, the hardware and the size are decisions rather than options on a list. Awkward openings, arched heads and period replacements are normal work here.
Accountability. If a hinge fails or a unit mists, there is no argument about whose fault it is. We made it, we fitted it, and we come back.

What is window fabrication?
Window fabrication is the manufacture of the window itself: cutting the uPVC or aluminium profile to size, welding or mechanically jointing the corners, routing the drainage and hardware slots, fitting the gaskets, beads and locking gear, and glazing the finished frame with the sealed unit. A fabricator makes the window. An installer fits a window somebody else made. We do both, from Trafford Park.
Are you a window fabricator or a window installer?
Both, and that is the point. Most companies quoting you for windows in Manchester are installers who buy frames in from a fabricator, then add their margin. We fabricate in our own workshop and fit with our own team, so there is no middleman between the factory and your house.
Do you supply windows to the trade?

Yes. Because we cut and weld to order rather than picking from stock sizes, awkward openings, arched heads, bays and replacement frames for period properties are made to the measurements we take on survey.
