Listed buildings and conservation-area homes with sound original joinery? VIG into the originals is now frequently the best answer full stop, performance without the planning fight. Period homes with tired frames? Heritage-style replacement windows remain better value, with VIG as the glass option where sightlines demand ultimate slimness. Ordinary homes? Conventional A++ double or triple delivers similar performance for far less. VIG's premium buys thinness, and if you don't need thinness, don't pay for it.
